Eva Cassidy - Fields Of Gold Lyrics

Eva cassidy "Fields of gold" Eva Cassidy was the third of four children born to Hugh and Barbara Cassidy. From an early age, she displayed artistic and musical talent. When she was nine years old, her father taught her to play the guitar, and she began to play and sing at family gatherings. While a student at Bowie High School, she sang with a local band called Stonehenge, and received considerable praise. At the age of eighteen, Cassidy began her professional career, singing and playing guitar in a Washington, DC, area band, called Easy Street. This band performed in a variety of styles, at weddings, corporate parties, and pubs. During the summer of 1983, Cassidy sang and played guitar, six days per week, at Wild World, in Maryland. Her brother Dan was also a member of this working band. Throughout the 1980s, Cassidy worked with a number of other bands, including the soul and Motown-oriented band The Honeybees, and the techno-pop band Characters Without Names, later called Method Actor. During this period, Cassidy also worked as a propagator at a plant nursery and as a furniture painter in Annapolis, Maryland. In 1986, she met (bassist and recording engineer) Chris Biondo, who encouraged her and helped her find work as a backup singer for various acts. In 1990, Biondo and Cassidy hired the so-called "Eva Cassidy Band", composed of Chris Biondo, Lenny Williams, Keith Grimes and Raice McLeod, and she began to perform frequently in the Washington area. In 1992, Biondo ...

Patio Umbrellas Are For Weather Protection and Privacy

Patio umbrellas are not just designed to keep your guests cool during the hot months and dry in the winter months. They can protect you from the harsh UV rays of the sun and also provide privacy. With a great range of different fabrics, colors and sizes available you will be able to find the correct patio that will suit your outdoor decor and home.

Patio umbrellas come in two types. The first are those that slide into the hole in the middle of a patio table. Other stands on their own, usually with either stand or water placed into their base to weight them down in the wind.

The frame is usually constructed from teak oak or aluminum. These materials are durable in the rain and sun. Modern umbrellas have the ability to be tilted towards the sun which enables you to shift the umbrellas shade as the sun moves over the course of the day.

There are a wide range of fabrics available. One of the more common ones are Sunbrella and SolarVsita which both have 98% protection and are resistant against fading. Coolaroo is a unique fabric which not only protects you against the UV rays but also makes the air cooler under the umbrella.

Patio umbrellas are a great way to provide privacy when you are entertaining or relaxing. This is even more important for those people who have other residences close by or have a backyard which is situated so other neighbors see. Using an large umbrella can negate these problems.

4 Types of Handicap Stair Lifts

Simply put, a stair lift is a mechanical tool used to lift people and wheelchairs up or down the stairs. Also called chair lift or stair glider, this device can either be attached to a rail or, in the cases of wide stairways, it can be mounted or temporarily installed to the treads of the stairs. To use it, a person on the wheelchair or any kind of platform is simply lifted as the former or latter moves along the rail.

Aside from chair lifts, there are also two other options to provide access between floors, namely: platform lifts and residential elevators. But by far the least expensive of the three is the chair lift. Platform lifts and residential elevators can cost anywhere from $10k-16k, or even higher. A straight chair lift, on the other hand, only costs about $2.5k-4k. If you want a retrofitted curved model, the price will range from $4k to about 15k. It is sensible to take into consideration that the installation costs of your stair lift will largely depend on the design of your stairs. The more complex and intricate it is, the more expensive the cost will be.

To give you a better idea of lifts used by the handicapped, you should know that there are four kinds of stair lift drives offered in the market today. Here they are:

Cable. A cable drive system typically makes use of a sturdy steel cable, very similar to the ones used in elevators. Some people say that cable drive stair lifts may not have smooth starts and stops, so be sure to select your model well.

Chain. This kind of stair lift drive is used for heavy duty models. The only setback is that it can be quite loud occasionally.

Screw. A screw driven stair lift is powered by a rechargeable battery, making it quite convenient to use.

Rack & pinion. Rack & pinion is the most commonly used type of stair lift drive today. Many people like it because wheelchair users usually have smooth and even-paced ride. A rack & pinion must be regularly cleaned and lubricated for it to perform at its best.

Fruitwise planting a small pear tree

Julia and I plant the last tree in a new section of orchard.. we planted 32 pear trees where we had removed some Bramley and Sunset apples-we had too many of them and our customers kept asking for pears. It is possible to plant much larger trees than this small 1 year maiden. If they have good roots, have not been out of the ground long, and are planted with great care and tied to a stake they may give fruit sooner. However, a big tree suffers more transplanting stress, a small tree with good roots is likely to grow away better. The important thing is to carefully spread the roots and crumble and work the soil with a spade or fork, as Julia shows in this video, so that they have good soil contact. You will have noted that we did not put any fertiliser or compost in the planting hole. This soil is rich and well textured, so no need, but a mulch of compost on the surface will help. DO NOT put fresh dung or rough compost in the planting hole, a handful of composted forest bark can help with moisture retention if the soil is too sandy but generally its better not to add anything, use mulch or top dressing if necessary. Remember, the biggest mistake about planting a fruit tree is not to do it! Tiny though this tree is, it should have some fruit on in in 3 years. The variety was Seckle, a rare fruit of legendary flavour. I have never tasted this as it is not comercially available, I obtained it from Keeper's nursery near Maidstone, Kent. check out their web site-lots of ...

BR 6 - Review Of Fabulous Paper Gliders By Norman Schmidt

Date Reviewed: 1 May 2008

Book Name: Fabulous Paper Gliders

Author: Norman Schmidt

ISBN #: 1-895569-23-0

Year of original book/Year of my copy - 1998/1998

Pages - 96

Cover Price - $12.95

Named Planes - The Paperwing, Glasflugel Libelle 201, Lilienthal 1895 Glider, Primary Glider, Orlik, Grunua Baby, Waco CG-4, Colditz Cock, Schweizer SGS 1-26, Schleicher Ka-6, Lark S.I. 28B2, Salto H 101, Solitare Canard, Genesis, PW-5 Smyk, Schemp-Hirth Nimbus 4.

Level of difficulty - (1-10) 8

Comments:

I enjoy Norman's books. He always has planes with great flying capabilities, with heavily researched and informative text. This book is no different, and stands apart from many paper airplane books in that it focuses on paper planes inspired from real gliders.

All paper planes are essentially gliders, so these seem to imitate their real cousins. Watching the Waco plane fly makes those old WW2 black and white newsreels spring to life.

This book contains plans for 16 planes. All will require cutting with scissors, a sharp hobby knife, 65lb card stock or 5x8 index cards, and some form of glue. A glue stick will work just fine. The idea is that you trace or photocopy the designs onto regular paper, then transfer them to card stock or 5x8 index cards to cut out. DON'T CUT OUT THE DESIGNS FROM THE BOOK! It isn't necessary. While his method works, it is cumbersome and involves a lot of steps. What I did was scan each plan, and put them into a word document. That way, whenever I need to make one of his planes, I print out the plane onto 65lb cardstock, and cut it out. No need to trace or transfer, and I can make unlimited copies. Two 5x8 plans fit on one 8x11 sheet. A bonus is that I expanded the designs, so that one plan fits onto an 8x11 sheet, and you can see the result in the pictures of the Lilienthal Glider and the Waco Glider. It makes a nice, larger plane, and with a little reinforcing of key areas, they fly AWESOME!

So is there anything I don't like about the book? Not much. Apart from having to scan the planes (tedious, but a one time affair), there is nothing to not like about it. A lot of good technical data, some personal stories and good history of the planes, it makes for a pleasant read. Combined with great flying designs, I am pleased to award this book a score of 10 out of 10. I would recommend this book to adults, and older children (mainly because of the knife work involved). However, the planes are a joy for children of all ages to fly, and I heartily recommend parents making them with their young children to enjoy.

Outdoor Glider Rocking Chairs

Today more than ever, people have been turning their backyards into their own relaxing getaway spots. When they come home from work they want a place where they can sit and forget the stresses of the day. An outdoor glider rocking chair makes a perfect addition to any porch, and with the right cushion, can easily be your oasis right in your very own home.

Once you've found the right chair, a rocking chair cushion is first and foremost the main thing to look for to complete your outdoor glider rocking chair set. These do not have to be purchased separately however. You can purchase them together online or even at your favorite home improvement store.

You don't need a cushion to have a good rocking chair. Some people prefer cushions on their chairs as it makes the chair more inviting and is much softer to sit on.

When purchasing an outdoor glider, make sure to note how it feels when you glide or rock. These motions have been proven releases of stress on the body, and can help slow down your body after a hard day at work. The soothing rocking or gliding motion should feel right to you. Don't buy simply by the look of the chair. Think about the feeling as well.

If you buy a high-end chair, you shouldn't need to worry about leaving it outside year-round. Outdoor glider rocking chairs are made to withstand all weather conditions and there shouldn't be a problem.

When buying your cushion, try and find one that contains a warranty. Sometimes the ones without warranties are not made well, and may tear or break apart. This is not what you want if you plan on leaving it outside along with your chair.

Alice Tan Ridley - I Will Always Love You

New York's subway idol Alice Tan Ridley performing live - I Will Always Love You - on Dutch TV - Sat. June 5th, 2010. "Discovered" by 2 Dutch women, taking the subway back to a hotel when stuck in New York due to the ash cloud from a volcanic eruption in Iceland. Their wish was to get her invited to the Dutch show X-de-Leeuw. In his last X-de-Leeuw show host Paul de Leeuw fulfilled their wish .... Alice Tan Ridley recently did audition at American's Got Talent in New York and made it to the next round in Las Vegas. Alice Tan Ridley was a former nursery-school teacher and Department of Education teacher's aide, "I Will Always Love You" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton in 1973, who first released the song as a single in 1974, produced by Bob Ferguson. And in 1992 the version of American singer Whitney Houston became one of the best-selling singles of all time. This song is known as one of the most difficult numbers to sing. Singing this song can make or break your career. But Alice stands firmly on the ground with this notion, and sings this song just as good with her own twist to it.

Do You Rock-A-Bye Baby in Nursery Rockers Or Nursery Gliders?

Mothers have been purchasing nursery rockers for many generations. They offer the perfect motion to calm a screaming baby or put a tired baby right to sleep. While nursery rockers remain a staple for many new parents and grandparents, others are opting for more modern nursery gliders instead.

Nursery Rockers

Rocking chairs are no longer used just for rocking a newborn to sleep or calming down a cranky toddler. Some parents will rock their children until they are seven years old or sometimes older. As long as the parent and child can both fit comfortably in the chair, it will remain a great way to spend time together and bond. Many families even have more than one rocking chair in their home.

Solid wood rockers can be found in a wide variety of styles as well as colors. Some are stained different colors and show the natural wood grain while others are painted. Some rocking chairs are even suitable for adding paint and other embellishments in order to create a truly original look in the nursery. As long as all materials are completely safe and nontoxic, creativity is encouraged!

There are a few things that should be kept in mind when selecting a rocker for the nursery:

If you want to use your rocker for more than a few minutes at a time, you will need to add a soft cushion.
Some rocking chairs will feel differently than others so it's a good idea to test it out before purchasing.
Rockers for the nursery must be extremely quiet so test it out and make sure it does not squeal, hiss, or click on the floor.
Some nursery rockers are more durable than others, but you can often judge this by seeing the condition of rockers that have been used as display models in stores for awhile.

Nursery Gliders

So, what exactly is a glider and how is it different from a rocking chair? Here are some things that will make it easier to understand:

When you rock in a rocking chair you are moving forward then down a bit and back. A glider just moves in a straight diagonal so you don't have that arched dip down toward the floor as you go forward or backward.
Nursery gliders will have a lot of cushioning and fabric built on which makes it more like sturdy furniture.
You can find many gliders that come with a matching footstool that also glides, but most rocking chairs are stand alone items.
You can decorate and repaint most rocking chairs to customize them, but you can't do that with gliders.

You definitely need a rocker or glider in your home. To determine which one you need, try them out and see which motion feels more comfortable for you.

Get out and try a variety of gliders and rockers in stores. Just remember that gliders are solid furniture which can be added into other rooms of the home when your children are older.

Safety is important no matter which you choose. Make sure crawling babies don't get under the legs of a rocker, and gliders should have no exposed moving parts where fingers can be pinched.

Sugar Glider Breeding

The aging method used in this book is from vaginal birth, NOT from the time that they emerge from the pouch. The reason for this is that each Sugar Glider can emerge at different times and therefore is not a reliable source of age measurements. The following table related to the development of a baby Sugar Glider and is taken from Monotremes and Marsupials: A Reference For Zoological Institutions by Larry R Collins.

"Days:

1 -- Ear pinnae are directed forward and held against heady by epithrichium, skin unpigmented, sex not discernible.
13 -- Able to tell sex.
16 -- Tips of ear pinnae are free from head.
19 -- Ear pinnae are completely free from head but still directed forward.
25 -- Ear pinnae directed backward.
30 -- Fin fur detected on muzzle, ears are lightly pigmented. (Approximately)
40 -- Joey first release grip on teat. (Approximately)
60 -- Joe begins protruding from pouch.
70 -- Only the Joey's head remain pushed into the pouch, Joe frequently left in nest by female and male protects them.
80 -- Eyes & ears begin to open."

Sexual maturity varies from Sugar Glider to Sugar Glider so I cannot state exactly when they come of age although it does seem to manifest around 7-15 months of age. In the wild, the sexual maturity is approximately 12 months with the females maturing first. One sign on the male that he may be ready is the appearance of the typical bald spot on the top of his head followed by a balding spot on the center of their chest. It is not difficult to breed these animals since they are communal. They live together very well and things will happen easily.

As with other marsupials the female Sugar Glider has a short gestation period. This means that approximately 16 days after conception, the babies are born and have to make their way to the mothers pouch. Once there, they will attach to a nipple for nourishments and stay for about 2-3 months. To check and see if your female has babies in her pouch, you can watch to see if her pouch starts to bag a little or look like it has a marble or two in it. It is true that you can GENTLY touch where the bulge is and see if you can feel a small lump or two (three if you are lucky) but I would recommend against it. These small bumps are most likely her new babies. If you were to pull a baby off the nipple, while you are checking, well. You most likely have lost that baby since they are unable to reattach to the nipple. Only special around the clock care May save them. For the first half of their pouch life the babies are unable to regulate their own body temperature and completely depend upon their mothers pouch to keep them warm. For this reason, you should make sure that environmental conditions are favorable for raising young Sugar Gliders.

Sometime around 2 months of pouch aged, the babies will start to work their way out of the mothers pouch a little at a time. They may start emerging with a bit of the tail or just a leg while still attached to the mother's nipple. DO NOT attempt to pull the babies out at this time as once they are removed from the nipple they are unable to reattach themselves. Once the babies are completely out of the pouch they will cling to the parents as they move around their housing, and in about 10 days their eyes will open. At this point, if the parents are not uneasy with you, you may remove the babies from the cages for a short period of time. This will also aid the babies in becoming acclimated to the human touch. It is important that you make sure the female has a good source of water and protein available at this time since most of these items will be passed on to the baby while she is nursing.

New babies may stay with the mother and father. There is no need to separate them after the baby is out of the pouch. Males are very good daddies as they will make sure that the babies are well taken care of by sheltering or giving the babies some if its own food if they want it. Both mother and father are excellent parents and will generally take great care of the young. Make sure there is an ample amount of food as the parents can eat their young if they become hungry enough!

I should note here, that it has been documented that some female Sugar Gliders that have had only one baby in the pouch have experienced another birth and that baby has crawled in the pouch while one is already nursing. I believe this to be rare, but has happened to some Sugar Glider mothers who have had babies that are already weeks old. If this happens, do nothing extra except make sure that your are providing the mother with enough fruits/vegetables and protein. All will happen naturally and take care of itself.

How To Quit Your Day Job And Make REAL Money Playing World Of Warcraft

Due to the latest advances in automated gameplay, it is now VERY possible to make REAL money while you sleep by using the MMOGlider program to automatically play your World of Warcraft character and farm gold and levels. It's very simple and requires minimal effort on your part.

Glider is a tool that plays your World of Warcraft character for you, the way you want it. It grinds, it loots, it skins, it heals, it even farms soul shards... without you. It uses the latest bot technology and is 100% undetectable by Blizzard. It comes with a free restricted trial to showcase how effective and easy to use it is. Registering costs only $25 USD, and also gains you access to the members section of the Glider forums, full of tips, tricks and tweaks to gain the most out of your Glider experience.

$25 is a bargain. In the month since I bought it I've made $500 from using Glider to level two characters to 70 and selling the accounts, and by selling the spare gold I made on the side.

If you upgrade Glider to Glider Elite you can also use background mode, which also allows you to run multiple accounts at once.

Imagine if you had TEN characters running at once, levelling to 70 and then selling them.

So basically here's how to make money playing World of Warcraft in 4 easy steps

1. Purchase Glider ($25)

2. Buy a new WoW account ($40)

3. Use glider to level that account to 70 with no effort on your part

4. Sell that account for anywhere from $200-400 depending on where you sell it, if you can find a private buyer you will get more money than if you sell it to an accounts.

It only takes 2 weeks to get a character to 70 using this method and using Glider Elite and multiple accounts is a surefire way to make big money.

Imagine having 10 accounts running at once for 2 weeks to level them up, then selling them for a total $2000-$4000. Making money while you sleep with practically no effort beyond setting up Glider and pressing the start button.

Retro Patio Furniture

Retro patio furniture is becoming more popular as people are looking to add a unique finish to their backyards. Thanks to advances in manufacturing techniques, you can now get durable long-lasting patio furniture in a variety of vintage styles.

Retro patio furniture brings back a lot of nostalgia and memories from childhood, which is probably why this is style is growing in demand. However, decades ago, this old outdoor furniture did not last very long. As kids we probably remembered our grandparents furniture as rusty or sun bleached.

But today's outdoor furniture is made out of more advanced materials, like resin. This is a type of injected plastic molding, and while you may think plastic sounds cheap, resin patio furniture can be made to look like expensive wood. Also resin can be made strong and more durable by adding fibers, and resin can also be any color you wish.

Some of the big advantages of having your outdoor furniture made out of resin is that it is weather resistant, UV resistant, and can be molded into comfortable shapes, and is very easy to clean.

If you're going to buy retro furniture made out of metal parts, they should have special coatings to resist rusting and corrosion from heat and humidity as well. The same goes with any wood furniture that you buy, they should also be sealed with a waterproof sealant.

If you choose to buy furniture in the vintage style you should plan on buying a whole complete set from the same manufacturer, because it is hard to get matching styles from different manufacturers because this furniture is not very common yet.

Also, you should buy a complete set all at once because some lines of retro patio furniture has limited production runs, so the colors may not match up very well between production batches.

Outdoor Gliders And Swing Sets In Kit

If you would like to get a brand new wooden swing set you should consider getting a kit to build your own. You need not be a very experienced handyman to do it yourself successfully. The kits that you can now purchase from most swing set retailers come in many variations and with everything you need to complete the project.

These sets are designed with people like you in mind. They offer you flexibility and back up you may need, except for the actual timber. You don't need to fret about that though as the pack will include a detailed list of all the pieces you need, with their exact sizes, so you can order them easily from your local timber merchant.

The instructions are very easy to follow and understand so even if you have never built anything before you can't really go wrong if you follow the directions step by step. They are put together in such a way that you will always know where you're at and what the next step is, without confusion.

The key thing to look out for when you decide on the swing set kit you are buying is whether it comes complete with all the specialist hardware necessary to complete the project successfully, and steer well clear of any kit that doesn't come with these pieces. While timber is easy to come by wherever you live finding specialist swing hardware may be far trickier as your local stores may not be able to order them up for you, and locating suppliers on your own could prove very time consuming and frustrating, not to mention costly.

Wooden swing set building kits are a great option to get yourself a brand new swing set that you can be proud of for years to come. The only thing be very mindful of is the kind of timber you purchase for the job. It is an absolute must that the wood you pick is treated properly to resist outdoor conditions. This means that you may need to treat it before you start building the set if it is not supplied already weather resistant: do not skip this step unless you want to run the risk of your beautiful new set getting ruined by the weather.

Nursing Chairs Reviews - Only the Best For You and Your Child

To find out the best the industry has to offer, avail yourself of nursing chair reviews. Most buyers feel that they are very comfortable. One buyer of a Dutailier chair also purchased a glider footstool, and she feels that they are very comfortable to use. She can set it to glide, or it can be locked into place in different positions. She still uses the chair even though she isn't breastfeeding anymore. And others in her family also use the chair - it's now in her living room.

Another buyer notes that nursing reclining chairs tend to take up a bit of room, especially if you pair them with a foot stool. She does like the comfortable luxury afforded by the chair and stool. She feels that it is a fabulous chair, and added a breastfeeding nursing pad to make it more comfortable for she and her little one as well. When she tried other models first, she found that some of the ones with a v-shape or a curve to them make the baby roll towards her a bit, not in the position that she wants a breastfeeding baby in. She also loves the back support, which she feels is right where it is needed.

Another nursing chair buyer bought the Tutti Bambini Glider and Stool. She feels that it was the perfect item to put in her nursery, even though some mothers told her she didn't need a special chair. She said that her niece has one and they feel that it's lovely. The niece still uses the chair even though she doesn't breast-feed anymore, for his nightly bottle and pre-bed cuddling. They also gave nursing covers reviews and nursing pad reviews, noting that these aren't necessary items but helpful nonetheless.

Another of the numerous nursing chairs reviews is for the nursing rocking chair. Modern rockers and nursing glider chairs are made from many various materials, including laminates, molded plastic and chrome, but the most popular chairs are made of wood. The favorites in wood for chairs include hickory, oak, maple, cherry and walnut.

One reviewer purchased the Baby Weavers reclining nursing glider and its accompanying stool. She said that it really gives her a smooth gliding motion and she likes the reclining feature, when she wants to use it. The movement of the chair is gentle and quiet, as it should be, and she says that she especially enjoys the soft, deep padded upholstery. The timber construction means that this chair is built to last.

Nursing chairs range from the very cheap to the very expensive. Often times, they are passed down from one generation of a family to the next, and they tend to be more valuable as heirlooms than antiques, since they haven't really been a featured item for that many years. If you want the highest quality in your chair, be prepared to spend more for it. Unless you order your chair online, try it out before buying, so that you know it's a good fit for you and your little one. Nursing chairs reviews actually point out good things about many chairs, rather than pointing to one best chair for breastfeeding.

Christmas Lists - Planning Your Shopping in Advance

It is always easier to plan your Christmas shopping well in advance. This way you can make sure that you get all the gifts that you want for your friends and family. The last thing that you want is to be rushing around the shops on Christmas Eve and just picking up the first item that you see.

If you do find yourself stuck for time and having to do some last minute Christmas shopping there are a few items that may just manage to get you out of a scrape. Sometimes you could purchase a box of chocolates if you know somebody that loves sweet things.

Likewise you could buy a nice selection of cookies for somebody that has a penchant for them. If you are struggling a little you could always find a nice perfume or nice cologne as there are always a nice selection to choose from.

Clothes always come in handy at this time of year so a nice blouse or shirt could make a decent gift.

It is always better to choose clothes that are sensible and not go over the top with garish fashions. That is unless the person that you are buying the gift for has a strange taste in clothing.

Then you could always look at buying things such as mp3 players or wallets or even ties for the male recipients. The females would prefer something like jewelry or any sort of cosmetics. Gift vouchers are another idea that can be used for lots of people that you find hard to select gifts for.

Children in their teens would probably prefer the gift vouchers or even money as they can then choose their own gifts. Younger children always like to receive books or toys as gifts.

It is always better to make a list when it comes to shopping especially at Christmas time. This way you can make doubly sure that you have got the correct items for the correct recipients and have not forgotten anybody.

Anthony Newley - Pop Goes The Weasel

1961 Pop Goes The Weasel/ Bee Bom (Decca F11362, reached #12 in UK) - interpretation of the nursery rhyme Mentioned in the video (and, which is perhaps more likely for a poem from the East End of London), if "pop goes the weasel" is taken as Cockney rhyming slang, the "weasel" that goes "pop" is an item of value that the worker pawns, probably after spending the week's wages (always given on a Saturday). The "serious" Cockney uses "pop" to mean pawning or the redeeming of a pawned item, while the word "weasel" means "coat" (derived from "weasel and stoat"). Cockney slang also uses 'pop' to mean 'go away' ("Pop off!") or 'to hit' ("I'll pop you one!"). Another possibility is that "weasel" is a corruption of "whistle" and means "suit" (in this case being derived from "whistle and flute"). In either interpretation, the rhyme describes the pawning of the worker's only valuable items — the "Sunday best" clothing — after exhausting the week's wages on the food items such as rice and treacle, which, though cheap, were and are fundamentally useless to anyone if the buyer is poor and has nothing to eat them with. It is thought, however, that early "quack" doctors would have prescribed treacle as a sort of medicine, and gullible purchasing workers that were prone to illness due to exposure would doubtless have spent their savings on trying to maintain their and their children's health.
