Why Bearded Dragons Make Great Pets

Reptiles are fast becoming the most popular pets around, and in the number one spot in the popularity stakes are the bearded dragons. If you don't know a lot about these reptiles, you may be excused for wondering what all of the fuss is about.

Bearded dragons make great pets for a number of reasons; the most obvious is because they are so cute. To start off with, they are one of the smallest reptiles available, so they can easily be comfortably housed in an enclosure that doesn't use up the whole of your home. Like all reptiles, they will require some special equipment to simulate their habitat, such as lights, and heating pads.

When you see a bearded dragon, your first impulse will be to want to buy him right on the spot. The bearded dragon wins many hearts because of his stunning looks. There are a number of different bearded dragon colorings available including red, orange, lemon, and white. They have exquisite markings from head to toe, and have prickly looking spikes around their throats, which gives the impression of them having a beard.

Not only does the bearded dragon look good, he is also one of the tamest, friendliest reptiles around. Many bearded dragons that are bred in captivity need no taming down, and can be handled immediately. They are very comfortable with their human companions, and will often hold onto their owner's hands to avoid being put back in their enclosures. By nature, the bearded dragon is very friendly and inquisitive, which makes for an interesting interaction between pet and owner, as well as ensuring the survival of the bearded dragon after purchase, as he will happily fit right in without a lot of fuss.

The bearded dragon is an ideal pet for those who have children, and as long as younger children understand that the bearded dragon is very fragile, and can be hurt easily, the bearded dragons are safe to be handled by children, and won't bite, or scratch. They will quite happily lie on their owner's hands, and show no signs of discomfort, or distress while being handled.

Bearded dragons are easy to care for, as long as you know the equipment that is needed to simulate their environment, and will breed easily in the right conditions. Reptile owners will all agree that if you are new to reptile ownership, the bearded dragon is the best reptile to start off with because of his friendly disposition, hardiness and gentle nature.

If you are new to reptile ownership, and want to get a bearded dragon, make sure that you have all of the necessary equipment and food ready for your bearded dragon before bringing him home. Make sure to ask your supplier, or local pet store what the dragon has been fed previously, and make sure that you simulate his environment to resemble his natural habitat. By doing this, you will ensure the long, healthy, happy life of your reptile companion for many years to come.

Where to begin?

Most people encounter trouble in creating a plan they like mainly because they lack the necessary skill and artistry. If you are one of them, start by getting some ideas online or from your neighbor's backyard. You can also find useful ideas on home improvement magazines and books. Most of them contain illustration, step-by-step procedure, and the list of materials needed to create the exact plan. This makes it easier for you to complete the project in case you decide to adapt a specific plan.

What are the elements that must be present to the plan?

Focal point. Focal point ranges from garden pieces such as trellises, birdbaths fountains, artificial lakes, little pool, and statues to colorful flowers and plants depending on the available space for your patio. Choose your focal point in line with the overall theme you want to achieve.

Lights. The simple yet effective way to enhance the mood and at the same time, make it livable and safe during nighttime is by installing lights around your patio. Places to install your lights are ceilings, trees, and patio covers, steps, walkways, plant bed, and at the focal point. Also install lights at strategic areas where it can cast shadows for more dramatic effect.

Cover. There are different options to cover your patio. Some covers are better for rain while some are better for shade. Other patio covers protect you from both rain and direct sunlight. Choose one depending on your necessity.

Furniture. Select the furniture for your patio depending on the available space and the how the space will be used. Your patio design plan should include where the furniture will be placed on the area.

WoW Bot - InnerSpace Guide

First off, I'd like to explain some terms. Innerspace is an operating system, not a bot. Many people will be peeved if you say that. Openbot is a program/plugin/whatever that runs on innerspace. Openbot is a bot. Get these down and you'll save the openbot vets some hair.

Innespace is NOT free. And I did't find a crack yet. Yes you will need to pay for it if you'd like to use it. It will cost you $10 for a 3-month subscription. This is cheaper than glider elite. If you'd like to subscribe to use this bot Lavishsoft.com register an account, and subscribe from there.

Once you have an account subscribed, you can start this guide.

-Setting up Software-

1. Download and install the latest version of Innerspace.

2. Download the latest version of ISXWoW and ISXWarden. Always keep these up to date!

Install ISXWoW by running the installer if you downloaded that, or if you downloaded the zip, extract ISXWoW.dll into the Extentions folder and the other files into your Interface folder.

Install ISXWarden by simply extracting the .dll to the Extensions directory of your Innerspace installation.

3. Launch innerspace, right click on the little crosshairs icon, and click configuration.

4. Click on the "Game Configuration" tab and select World of Warcraft from the dropdown menu. Click Startup.

-Ingame Openbot Setup-

1. Once Innerspace is loaded with WoW and you've checked ISXWarden to be okay, log ingame and bring down console again.

2. Type into console:

run openbot/openbot

This should load the ingame interface.

Animals - Sugar Gliders - Great "Pocket Pets"

The sugar glider, or Petaurus Breviceps, is a very small tree dwelling (arboreal) marsupial. Other marsupials include kangaroos and possums. Sugar gliders are native to Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia and Tasmania. Most marsupials carry their young in a pouch where they grow and develop and sugar gliders are no exception. Sugar gliders got this unique name because they love sweet foods and also because they can glide over 165 feet! They glide by launching themselves off trees and opening their gliding membrane, known as the patagium. This membrane stretches from their wrists to their ankles.

If you are thinking of purchasing one of these "pocket pets" there are a few things you should consider. Be aware that sugar gliders can live from ten to fifteen years in captivity so be sure that you will be able to care for your pet that long. Also, gliders are very social animals so if you can, you should get two. If you only get one, you will need to spend at least two hours a day with it.

Sugar gliders are nocturnal, which means they are only active at night. If you can't spend time with them at night then this may not be the pet for you. During the day they just want to sleep. You will have to feed and play with them when they wake up.

Sugar gliders cannot be kept in small cages, they are very active and love to jump and glide. They will need a cage at least 18" X 18" X 36". The taller the cage is the better, because they love to climb. The wire of the cage should not be galvanized wire because it can cause urinary tract infections in the gliders. A great type of wire to use is powder coated wire. The bar spacing of the wire should not be larger than half an inch. When you get the cage, choose a location that isn't too noisy during the day so that they can sleep. Also, put the cage in a room that has windows so that they know what time of the day it is. However, do not put the cage in direct sunlight.

Inside the cage you will need to put a place for them to sleep. Fleece pouches are highly recommended. Fleece is the safest material to use for gliders. Sugar gliders have been known to get their nails caught in other materials. You should also get a variety of toys for the cage. Some suggestions for toys are ladders, bells, swings, ropes and perches. Just make sure none of the toys have small pieces that could be swallowed.

Sugar gliders also have very specialized diets so make sure you will have the time to prepare their food every day. They are not a pet that can be left alone for days; they must have constant care. If you go on vacation you will either need to bring them with you or find a dependable person to care for them while you are gone. There are many proven diets for sugar gliders and you should do research on each diet and decide which one is best for you. Some examples of great diets are BML, Darcy's diet, the Sugar Glider Exotic Diet and the Suncoast diet.

Also, you will need to find a vet in your area that treats sugar gliders. Not all vets will treat sugar gliders because they are considered an exotic pet. Sugar gliders do not require any shots, but you should bring them to the vet for yearly checkups. Because they are considered to be exotic, some states will not even allow them. Make sure that they are legal in your area. Some states in which they are illegal are Hawaii, Alaska, California, Georgia and Massachusetts.

One of the things people love most about sugar gliders is the strong bond they form with their owners. If you spend time with them every day, they will become very bonded to you and will not want to leave you. In order to help your pet bond with you, you can carry your glider in a bonding pouch or your pocket during the day while it sleeps. Just make sure your glider can't get out. Sugar gliders are very scent oriented and will need to get used to your scent. Carrying your sugar glider around during the day will help it get used to your scent. You can periodically offer your pet treats so that it associates you with good things. At night, you can let your sugar glider out into a room that is closed off from the rest of the house. Make sure that they cannot get out of this room and that the room doesn't contain anything that could hurt your glider. Check the room for any holes, cover electrical sockets, remove any harmful chemicals and make sure nothing in the room can hurt them. If you don't have a safe room to let them out into, you can purchase a camping tent and play with them in there. Eventually, your glider will bond with you; it just needs to learn to trust you.

Sugar gliders make wonderful pets if you have the time to care for them. If you spend lots of time with them they will form a strong bond with you different than any other animal. Sugar gliders are very playful, active and inquisitive. They are a true joy to watch. Just be sure you have the time and patience for them.

Interesting Hermit Crab Facts

Hermit crabs are interesting and unique animals that can make good pets. More and more people across the United States and in other countries are discovering Hermit crabs. The Hermit Crab is a relatively easy animal to care for and to feed, but there are a few facts that you need to be aware of to have a healthy and happy crab.

There are two main types of crabs that are sold in pet stores in America: the purple pincer crab and the Ecuadorian crab. The purple pincer crabs are easy to identify by their large purple pincers and legs. They tend to live further inland than other Hermit crabs and have adapted to not need saltwater. The Ecuadorian crabs live close to the ocean in tidal pools and have adapted to be able to metabolize saltwater. They have to have saltwater and freshwater to survive.

The crabs are best kept in an aquarium filled 5 to 8 inches deep with a fine sand. It is most likely that if you buy your crabs at a pet store, you will end up with a mix of purple pincer and Ecuadorian crabs, so you will need to have dishes of both fresh and saltwater in the aquarium.

The aquarium should be placed in a room where the temperature and humidity can be closely controlled. The crabs need to have a temperature range of 70F to 85F and a relative humidity of no lower than 70%. A relative humidify of below 70% will cause the crabs to slowly die. Many crab owners use heat lamps over the aquarium, heating pads under the aquarium and humidifiers to regulate the temperature and humidity.

Crabs are used to normal light in the wild. It is best to place them in a room where they have alternating sunlight and shade as the day progresses. Be careful of placing the aquarium in direct sunlight in the summer as this can cause the temperature in the aquarium to get too high.

Hermit crabs generally eat whatever they can catch in the wild. As omnivores, they eat a wide range of foods, but it is a mistake to feed them random table scraps. They need a balanced diet, just like we do. The crabs can thrive on a diet of raw vegetables, breads and some fish. Most pet stores will sell food sticks or food balls that are specifically engineered for Hermit crabs.

Hermit crabs will mot periodically. Molting is a process by which the crab sheds its outer shell and grows a new one to accommodate its growth. This process is much like a snake shedding its skin. During molting, the crab might appear to be dead. It will change color, stop eating and many times will stop moving about. Do not handle the crab during this process. After the crab is done molting it will become active again, but will have a very soft shell for about a week as the new shell hardens.

Soar Like a Bird With RC Gliders and Sailplanes

Flying outdoors with your own little glider is both fun and relaxing. RC gliders and sailplanes offer a quieter and cheaper flying experience as opposed to electric or gas powered RC planes.

The first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, once said this about gliders. "Gliders, sail planes, they're wonderful flying machines. It's the closet you can come to being a bird."

Neil was not wrong, RC gliders are just like there full size counterparts and really gives everyone the chance to soar like a bird. So you want to soar? Then read on.

First you need to know there are glider and sailplanes, which are basically both the same thing, it is just that gliders can sometimes have a small electric motor for steering and sailplanes don't. Out of the two, I think RC gliders are better because you can still have some control but also have an enjoying and relaxing flight.

Next you should know some of the downsides to flying an RC glider or sailplane. One thing is that they require more room to make a turn and they also move much slower. Moving slow is actually an advantage for beginners because it allows them more reaction time when flying, but if you have more experience then it isn't so much fun.

When looking for a glider, there are two options that you have; a powered glider or a non-powered one. Powered gliders are exactly that, they have electric motors that can be used for steering or actually propelling, but that kind of takes away the whole purpose of a glider so I wouldn't recommend that.

Non-powered gliders ride on thermal air currents, which allow the plane to fly along slowly. Powered gliders use a small electric motor with a folding propeller, and when the glider is to your desired height, you can just turn the motor off and it will become a true glider. Then if your glider starts to drop, you can just turn the motor back on and you can climb again.

Lastly we need to discuss launching your RC glider or sailplane. There are actually several ways to get your glider into the air, and all work just as good as the other I would say. The first way is hand launching the plane into the air. When doing this, always make sure you keep your hand at the exact center of gravity on the glider or sailplane, and launch it into the wind. That's it, it is that simple!

Another way to launch your glider is called discus launching, which takes the strain of hand launching out of the picture. Learn more about discus lunching if you think that is something you want to do.

That is some useful information on RC gliders and sailplanes that I have learned from my own experience. Just remember, when buying any glider or sailplane, always check for required accessories and what is not included. A Ready to Fly (RTF) glider should come with everything needed to start flying, but other kits might require some extra spending.

Weight Loss With Tony Gazelle Elliptical - Possible If You Don't Make This 1 Mistake

You've probably seen it on tv a bunch of times... Tony Little and his Elliptical machine called the Gazelle. So is weight loss possible with this thing? Yes, but...

First, let me say that I love elliptical machines. I think they're way better than treadmills because they're so easy on the joints and ligaments. Using an elliptical machine allows you to have a great low impact workout.

Second, the Gazelle would make a perfect addition to anyone who works out at home.

Now, the problem with most cardio machines such as this has to do with how they're used, not the machines. About 98% of people make this mistake too.

So what is it?

Simply put, most people do "steady state" cardio. What that means is they do long, slow to moderate paced sessions of over 30 minutes in a row.

Well, that's just not the most efficient way to burn fat.

A better way to use the Gazelle for weight loss is to do HIIT... which is short for high intensity interval training.

Here's an example of how you can do it.

Using the Gazelle... get on it and start going at a slow to moderate pace for 15-20 seconds. Easy enough. Ok, now after you're done with that, go all out... really intense... as fast as you can go. Do this for just 10 seconds.

Great! What just happened was you did your first interval. Now keep repeating that cycle for 6-10 minutes. Then get off the machine and rest... and get a drink of water.

What's awesome about HIIT is that it's quick and burns more fat than plain old jogging. The reason why it burns more calories and fat is because of what is called an "afterburn". What that means is your body (after it's done with a HIIT session) is in a hyper fat loss state.

It's at an elevated level of fat burning. But the great part is, it stays at this elevated fat burning mode for about 18 hours after a HIIT session. That equals massive amounts of fat loss compared to jogging or walking... because once you're done jogging, you're done burning fat. No afterburn.

So... weight loss with the Tony Gazelle elliptical is definitely possible if you don't make that 1 mistake. So give it a try. It's a great piece of equipment.

Located at the northern end of Peoria and about 45 minutes from downtown Phoenix, Lake Pleasant covers approximately 10,000 acres and is located in a beautiful mountainous setting that offers numerous recreational opportunities. It is managed by the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department and is Arizona's second largest lake.

Utilized as a holding reservoir, its water comes from two sources: The Central Arizona Canal and the Aqua Fria River. Residents from nearby cities flock there to experience the leisure and recreation offered by this large lake and regional park. At the Visitor's Center, guests can learn all about the development of the area and the naturally occurring wildlife. Step out onto the balcony surrounding the Visitor Center to get a beautiful view of Lake Pleasant and an up-close look at Waddell Dam.

In Lake Pleasant you will find a marina with all types of watercraft. Supplies are available at a store in the marina and you can spend your time water skiing, swimming, and fishing in the lake. In the surrounding mountains there are numerous hiking trails where you can view many of the birds and animals that have learned to live in this environment. The various sites within the park are available for day use at a reduced fee and camping is allowed for up to two weeks at one time.

The lake is regularly stocked with several species of edible fish. You can find sunfish, crappies, tilapia, carp, channel cats and several species of bass. The fish are suitable as a fresh food source and will provide a lot of family fun when fishing right from the shoreline. Be sure to ask the local rangers or inquire at the park entrance about where the best fishing spots may be for the time you will be at the lake.

In some parts of the lake the shore is gently sloping to the water and fishing and swimming are easy there. In other places there can be a drop off of 50 to 75 feet and it is only possible to approach the shoreline in a boat. Care must be taken that you don't hit any of the rocks that are hidden just under the water in several locations in the lake.

On the way to the Lake Pleasant Regional Park there is a dirt race track that is used for regularly scheduled races and there is the glider school and airport where it is possible to experience the thrill of touring the area in a glider plane.

Rats love to hoard things. When they find an attractive piece of fluff or paper. They will carry it in their mouths and hop back to their homes like a little kangaroo.
Rats are very sociable. They love to play both with humans and with other rats. It is important to get more than one rat (of the same sex), so that they can snuggle together at night in their ratty hammock and play together in the day. They will still bond with you just as much.

Humid Hides For Leopard Geckos

Humid or moist hides are vital for leopard geckos health. Without access to proper moisture and humidity most leopard geckos have trouble shedding. Some will even experience toe loss and problems digesting food. But what exactly is a humid or moist hide. The best way to provide a humid hide is a plastic container with a hole for access. The container should have 2-4 inches of perlite, vermiculite, or moss on the bottom. This substrate should be moist but not sopping wet. A good way to test this is to squeeze a ball of this substance in your hand. It should drip slightly but not pour water. Heat is essential, so place this container over the hot side of their enclosure.

We have found that a hole placed on the top of the container is much better that one placed on the side. Leopard geckos are good climbers and good diggers. A hole on the side often leads to all the vermiculite being kicked out of the container. One note of caution. Baby leopard geckos should never be given a humid or moist hide with perlite or vermiculite. Instead their moist hide should be a damp paper towel in small plastic container. It is very easy for baby geckos to eat the perlite or vermiculite and become impacted. We lost one of our very first babies to impaction this way and it was only after months of care that our other babies were able to pass all the perlite that they had eaten.
